India A men win hockey practice series vs Korea

India A fought back to hold South Korea to 2-2 draw in their fifth and last match of the men’s hockey practice series at Netaji Subhash South Centre in Bengaluru today. However, India A won the series 3-0. They won three matches in a row after being held to 1-1 draw in the opening match.

As many as three players from Odisha are known to have featured in this series. They were: Anand Lakra, Amon Mirash Tirkey and Amit Hohidas. Amon and Amit scored two goals each.

India-A (Armaan Qureshi 48’) drew with Korea (Seo Inwoo 31’) 1-1.
July 11: India-A (Akashdeep Singh, Rupinder Pal Singh 16’, Gagandeep Singh Sr 18’, Armaan Qureshi 20’,54’; Amon Mirash Tirkey 27’, Sumit Kumar 30’) beat South Korea (Jang Jonghyun 2’, 52’; Seo Inwoo 48’) 7-3.
July 13: India-A (Amon Miras Tirkey 15’, Varun Kumar 21’,30’; Dilpreet Singh 31’, Nilakanta Sharma 40’, Sumit Kumar 49’, Gurjinder Singh 60’) beat South Korea (Yang Jihun 22’, Lee Jungjun 37’) 7-2.
July 14: India-A (Sumit 15’, Amit Rohidas 39’,45’; Gurjinder Singh 49’, Nilakanta Sharma 60’) beat South Korea (Seo Inwoo 5’, Kim Songyeob 8’, Jeong Junwoo 21’) 5-3.
July 16: India A (Gurjan Singh 9’, Harmanpreet Singh 50’) drew with South Korea (Jan 3’,23’) 2-2.
